Carbondale – A. Nadine Ogletree, 91, of Carbondale, formerly of Mattoon passed away 9:24 p.m., Friday, July 28, 2017 at Century Assisted Living, Carbondale with her daughters by her side.



A private graveside service will be held at a later date in Hopkinsville, KY.

Nadine was born at Kemmerer, Wyoming to Zeral Leo and Selma (Anderson) Lindsey.  She married Laseter Brown Ogletree on August 9, 1943 at Jackson, MS.  He preceded her in death.  She also was preceded in death by a brother.



She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Mattoon where she was a Sunday School teacher for the two and three year old children for many years.  She also served as volunteer bookkeeper for the church. She had been an active volunteer for the American Red Cross Bloodmobile and the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, both in Mattoon.



Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Judith O. (Jeff) Baxter of Winter Haven, Florida and Roberta J. ‘Bobbie’ Ogletree of Carbondale; two granddaughters, Anne Marie (Brian) Scully and Alison (Shane) Davis; and four great grandchildren, Leah and Mallory Scully and Jackson and Jessica Davis.
