Richard Eugene Eads

CARBONDALE – Richard Eugene Eads, 81, passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family.



Richard was born August 2, 1936 to Mack and Lilly (Warren) Eads in Puxico, Missouri. He married Patricia J. Hale on March 2, 1961 at Carbondale and she survives.



Richard worked for the City of Carbondale in the Public Works Department for 29 years. He was a member of the local Teamster Union 347. Richard was a loving husband and father and will be missed by all who knew him.



Survivors include his wife, Patricia Eads; daughter, Carla Faye Eads Jones of Nashville, TN; and two grandchildren, Nikki Cerutti of Nashville, TN and Dylan Cody Jones of Cookeville, TN. Two Grand-Dogs Hunter and Meghan.



He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Edward, Robert, Charlie, Willie, Ray and Roy Eads; and sisters, Jenny Raney and Ruby Jackson. One Great-Grand Dog Samantha Cerutti, and his K-9 companion Carly.



Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m., Friday, June 1, 2018 in Meredith Funeral Home, Carbondale with Pastor Ivan Ryan officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 31, 2018 at the funeral home.
