Thomas Henry Hormann

March 23, 1939 — July 30, 2017

Grand Tower – Thomas Henry Hormann, 78, of Grand Tower, passed away 8:15 p.m., July 30, 2017, at his residence.



He was born on March 23, 1939 in Venice, Illinois to William D. and Grace (Hackney) Hormann who have passed away.  He is also preceded in death by a brother, Herbert ‘Sonny’ and a sister-in-law, Patsy.



He served his country in the United States Air Force from 1959 – 1962 and was a member of the American Legion Post # 127, Murphysboro.  He had worked as a factory worker for a shoe company.  Tom was an avid Cardinal fan and loved to be outside.  His hobbies included playing golf and fishing.



Survivors include two brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Linda Hormann of Sullivan, MO and Chuck and Tammy Hormann of Bartlett, TN; a sister and brother-in-law, Shadyann and Eugene Callahan of Rolla MO; many nieces, nephews, and cousins including T. C. Schaefer.



A memorial graveside service with military rites, provided by American Legion Post# 127, will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 12 at Walker Hill Cemetery, Grand Tower. 



Memorials are the preferred form of remembrance and may be made to the American Kidney Fund.



Meredith Funeral Home Chapel in Grand Tower assisted the family with arrangements.
