Darrell Joseph Hudson

GRAND TOWER – Darrell J. Hudson, 65, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis surrounded by his loving family. Darrell was born on March 19, 1957 to Frank and Dolores (Lindsey) Hudson in Murphysboro. He married Sheila Coomes on November 20, 1981 in Anna, Illinois. Darrell had a lawn mowing service where he mowed almost all of Grand Tower. He enjoyed going to auctions and could never pass up a good deal especially a mower he could fix. Most of all he loved spending time with his kids and grandchildren. Darrell is survived by his wife, Sheila; daughter, Chastity Ellet and fiancé Eric Lindstrom; sons, Dustin Hudson and wife, Victoria, Cory Hudson and fiancé Kayla Walker, and Evan Hudson; granddaughter, Sierra Ellet and grandson, Cannon Recar; brothers, Troy (Sandi) Hudson, and John (Tina) Hudson; sisters, Dianna Snider and Teresa (Russell) Tripp; nieces, Andrea Trammel, Hannah Trammel, Kelsey McMahan, Dianna Hudson, April Hudson, Brooke Hudson, Brandy Hudson; nephews, Seth and Adam Hudson. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Gary and Neil Hudson. Funeral services for Darrell will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at Grand Tower United Methodist Church with Pastor Carl Dillow officiating. Burial will follow in Walker Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at the church. Meredith Funeral Chapel in Grand Tower is in charge of arrangements.
