Deborah Pleasants

CARBONDALE – Deborah Sue Pleasants, 68, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, December 12, 2020.



Debbie was born on November 5, 1952 to Thomas and Nova (Roark) Hooper in Christopher. She married Samuel Dale Pleasants on October 23, 1981 in Freemanspur.



Debbie is survived by her husband, Sammy; sister-in-law, Jennie Stein; nephews, Anthony and Cody Stein; and niece, Cassidy Stein.



She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother-in-law, Mike Stein.



Debbie worked in various jobs over the years from office work to working at the Hampton Inn. She was a self-taught artist and loved to paint outdoor scenery. She enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing and she loved animals. When she was not outside she loved reading books and novels. She also loved to vacation in the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee.



Private graveside services will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Murdale Gardens of Memory in Murphysboro with Pastor Tom Stearns officiating.
