CARBONDALE - Delma Frick, 86, of Carbondale passed away at 9:25 a.m., on Thursday, June 11, 2015, at her home. Delma was born November 19, 1928, in Levan Township (Murphysboro) to Evert Hansen and Emma Irene (Hanna) Graeff. She married the late Frank Frick on June 17, 1950, in Murphysboro. Delma is survived by two daughters, Velda Frick Lloyd of Flossmoor and Avis Frick of Chicago; one sister, Willette Yearian of Murphysboro; her caregiver, Denise Hanson of Anna. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank, on November 8, 2006. She had worked at the University Baptist Church of Carbondale as a secretary for several years with Rev. Dr. Robert Hastings, Rev. Knapp Granade, Rev. Dr. Myron Dillow and Rev. Sam Foskey. She spent her retirement years with her husband traveling the world and enjoying sporting events, especially SIU basketball. A 54 year resident of her neighborhood, Delma developed close and important relationships with many of her neighbors and was especially grateful to those who watched over her after Frank's passing. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, June 15, 2015, at the University Baptist Church of Carbondale, with Rev. Sam Foskey and Rev. Dr. Myron Dillow officiating. Interment will be held at Pleasant Grove Memorial Park, Murphysboro. Visitation will be held from Noon until the time of service at the church. Memorial donations may be made to the University Baptist Church of Carbondale and will be accepted by the Meredith Funeral Home of Carbondale.
