Dennis Allan Palmer

CARBONDALE – Dennis Allan Palmer, 66, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family.



Dennis was born January 22, 1954 to Charles and Florine (Warren) Palmer in Elmurst, IL. He married Kerry Lynn (Taylor) Palmer on June 22, 2002 in Pueblo, Colorado.



Dennis is survived by his wife, Kerry; daughters, Susan (Gage) Miller, Amy (Ryan) Youngblood; brother, Rick Palmer; sisters, Joann (Frank) Schoeborn, Lynn Suppes; step-son, Zachary Santistevan; and grandchildren Mitchell and Reese Brandon and Abigail and Jonathan Youngblood.



He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; two sisters; and a brother-in-law.



Dennis worked as a firefighter for 21 years for the Carbondale Fire Department. During his career as a firefighter he taught HazMat classes, opened up a burn camp for burned children. And also raised money for the kids to come to the camp at the Touch of Nature. He served as an officer for the local Fire Department Pension Committee. Dennis loved to fish and boating. And loved spending time with his family.



A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
