Dorothy "Dottie" Cantrell

June 27, 1954 — September 20, 2020

ZEIGLER – Dorothy Cantrell, 66, of Zeigler, passed away on Sunday, September 20th, 2020, at Herrin Hospital, with her loving family by her side.

Dottie was born on June 27th, 1954 in Farrell, Pa., a daughter of Orville M. and Ruth E. Denning Fraley. She was a Farrell High School graduate. Dottie married the love of her life, Earl Cantrell, on July 6, 1973, in Sharpsville, PA. Together they shared 41 years of marriage - Earl passed in May, 2015.

Before moving to Zeigler to be closer to her children and grandchildren, she worked as a florist at Kraynak’s in Hermitage, PA. Once in Zeigler she continued floral design at the gift shop in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

Dottie’s love was always first and foremost spending time with her family. She was amazingly creative and shared her talents with everyone. Every family wedding or special event was honored to have floral designs and decorations made with her love and special touch. When she wasn't caring for others she enjoyed traveling and interior decorating.

She is survived by two children Matthew (Kim) Cantrell of Marion, and Melissa Craft of Herrin; a sister Patricia Elliott, Hubbard, OH; a brother Michael Fraley, Hermitage, PA; and six grandchildren, Megan, Michael, Amanda, Kayla, Victoria, and Gage. In addition to her husband and parents, Dottie was preceded in death by a sister, Pamela Fraley; and three brothers, Roger, Ronald and Charles Fraley.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Association.

Meredith Funeral Home in Carbondale assisted the family with arrangements. To leave a story or memory of Dottie visit www.meredithfh.com.
