Zeigler - Earl D. Cantrell, 74, of Zeigler, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Heartland Regional Medical Center of Marion, with his loving family by his side. Earl was born on January 22, 1941 in Hamilton, AL to Leroy and Annie Mae (Creed) Cantrell. He married the love of his life, Dottie Fraley, on July 6, 1973 in Sharpsville, PA. Together they shared 41 years of marriage. She survives and is of Zeigler. Earl is also survived by his children, Kim Cantrell of Nashville, TN, Matthew (Crystie) Cantrell of Marion, and Melissa (Tim) Craft of Herrin; brother, Ronnie G. Cantrell of Sharpsville, PA; and nine grandchildren, Megan, Micheal, Amanda, Kayla, Victoria, Brock, Emma, Jacob and Gage. He is preceded in death by his father, Leroy in 1965, mother, Annie in 2001 and an infant sister. Earl was a Truck Driver for 28 years until his retirement. He drove nearly every day from Pennsylvania to Michigan. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 261. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2015, at Meredith Funeral Home of Carbondale. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Meredith Funeral Home of Carbondale, with Sister Rachel Castillo officiating, with a one hour visitation prior to the service. Memorial donations are the preferred form of remembrance and may be made to the SIH Cancer Institute of Carbondale or the American Heart Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
