Esther Mae Perrine

Esther Mae Perrine, 80, of Herrin passed away at 8:20 p.m., Sunday, October 30, 2011, at Shawnee Christian Nursing Center, in Herrin, IL. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Cornerstone Church in Marion with Mike Brandon officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be at Ebenezer Hall Cemetery, Lick Creek. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Esther was born at Herrin on February 2, 1931, to Harland and Reathel (Finney) Watkins. She was a devoted Christian and blessed her family with her loving nature to her family and to the people she worked with as a caregiver. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Carla (Tim) Spowart of Herrin; four grandchildren and their spouses Tena (Jim) Studer of West Frankfort, Tony (Marcy) Spowart of Carterville, Jason (Mindy) Lewis of Herrin, and Derrick Lewis of Marion; 10 great grandchildren; four brothers, George Elmer Watkins of Herrin and Daniel Earl Watkins of Zeigler, Charles Edward Watkins, Benton, and James Andrew Watkins of West Frankfort. She is preceded in death by parents, a daughter, Sharon Lewis; a sister, Shelby Jean Watkins, and a brother, Henry Lee Watkins.
