Frances Lucille Marshall, nee Daniel, age 93, died at 5:09 a.m., June 18, 2014, at her home at Liberty Village of Carbondale. Frances was the eldest daughter of Charles E. Daniel and Marcy Ashton Daniel, nee Grymes. She was born in Washington D.C., on June 17, 1921. On Jan. 24, 1942, Frances was united in marriage to Matthew Dover Marshall. He preceded her in death on January 25, 1985. Left to carry on her legacy are five children; Patricia Medlin Guyon of Carbondale, Barbara Marshall Young (William) of Carbondale, Mary Jane Ploszek (Charles) of Pierceton, IN, Charles Scott Marshall of Marseilles, IL and Robert Grymes Marshall (Marnie) of Houston, TX. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Frances was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Marcy Elizabeth Fogel; and an infant grandson. Our mother enjoyed her new life in Carbondale, moving here in 2008. Her many friends at Liberty Village enhanced her days. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, June 21, at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Carbondale, with The Very Reverend Kathryn Jeffrey officiating. Visitation will from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, at the church. Burial will be 9:30 a.m., Monday, June 23, in the Chapel Hill Gardens West in Oakbrook Terrace. St. Jude Children's Hospital is the preferred form of remembrance. Donations also will be accepted by Meredith Funeral Home in Carbondale.
