Georgia R. Miller

CARBONDALE - Georgia R. Miller, 93, passed away on November 16, 2021.



Georgia was born on December 4, 1927 in De Soto to George and Estella (Jacquot) Beasley. Georgia married Alexander Miller on August 4, 1947 in Hernando, MS. He preceded in her in death on March 27, 1991.



Georgia worked as a homemaker taking care of her family. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses in Murphysboro. Georgia enjoyed her family, cooking, flowers, and gardening.



Georgia is survived by her sons, George (Brenda) Miller of Carterville, Richard (Madeline) Miller of Carbondale and Thomas (Susan) Miller of Marion; daughters, Iris (Dale) Ketzle and Christine (David) Shirley both of Carbondale; thirteen grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; six step-grandchildren and twelve step-great grandchildren.



She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alex; sisters, Jane Breeden, Ella Mae Jones and Betty Tackitt.



Funeral services for Georgia will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Meredith Funeral Home in Carbondale. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Carbondale. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.



In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Georgia’s name to Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Murphysboro and will be accepted at the funeral home.
