Glynn Murphy

CARBONDALE - Glynn Murphy, 57, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in Saint Louis, MO.

Glynn was born on June 22, 1965 in Springhill, LA to Albert and Shirley (Kistner) Murphy.

Glynn worked as a flooring installer for over twenty years. He deeply loved his family. He enjoyed collecting various items and was very creative. He traveled to the beat of his own drum. He also enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors. He loved to cook, especially grilling and smoking all kinds of meat. Glynn will be missed by all who knew him.

Glynn is survived by his mother, Shirley Walker; brothers, Audie (Kim) Murphy and Dan (Angela) Walker; sister, Sheryl Walker; nieces, Amanda Wheaton and Ashley Bennet; and his fur buddy/constant companion Dusty.

A Celebration of Life Service for Glynn will be held at 6:30pm on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at Meredith Funeral Home in Carbondale with Pastor Sam Foskey officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00pm until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
