Howard Dale Sharp, Jr.

CARBONDALE - Howard Dale Sharp Jr, 91, of Beecher, Illinois, formerly of Carbondale, Illinois passed away Thursday, April 25, 2019 in Bourbonnais, Illinois.



Howard was born July 5, 1927 in Brookport, Illinois the son of Howard and Helen (nee Bryant) Sharp Sr. On January 29, 1950, he married Ramona McDaniel. He was an accountant for the railroad. He enjoyed golfing, baseball, crossword puzzles. He was an avid Cubs and Packers Fan and he loved sitting in the sunshine and playing poker.



Surviving are his sons, Thomas (Delinda) Sharp of Lynwood, Illinois, Gordon (Tina) Sharp of Monee, Illinois; a daughter-in-law, Donna Sharp of Seminole, Florida; three grandchildren, Brad, Matt, and Maria (Eric) Rosenwald; two great grandchildren, Logan and Brooklyn.



He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ramona; a son, Bruce Sharp; an infant grandson, Trevor and his sister Hollis McCulley.



Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Oakland Cemetery, Carbondale with Gene Morgan officiating.



In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Howard’s name to the Manteno Veterans Home, 1 Veteran’s Drive, Manteno, IL 60950 or Vitas Hospice, 255 E. 5th Street, Suite 1200; Cincinnati, OH 45202. Envelopes will be available at the service.



Meredith Funeral Home in Carbondale assisted the family with local arrangements.
