Irene "Tunnie" Nimmo

GRAND TOWER – Irene “Tunnie” Nimmo, 85, of Grand Tower, passed away at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, December 8, 2018.



Tunnie was born on February 28, 1933 to Ray and Ruth (Worthen) Hartline in Bernie, MO. She married Frankie Nimmo on September 30, 1950. He preceded her in death on June 12, 1993.



Tunnie is survived by her daughters, Patti Nimmo and Peggy Camp both of Grand Tower; sons, Mike (Sharon) Nimmo of Grand Tower, Scott (Kim) Nimmo of Clinton and Kenny (Stacey) Nimmo of Grand Tower; grandchildren, LaCretia (Robert) Evans, Michaelann (Pete) Tuft, Tom Nimmo, Joel Camp, Philip Camp, Alisha (Adam) Crowell, Breanna Nimmo, Amanda (Darnell) Mathews, Bridget Nimmo, and Joe Nigro; great-grandchildren, Dustin, Cody, Jonathan, Brandon, Phaolyn, Bryluen, Keegan, Giavonna, Emmerson, Jessie, Nikki, Gage, Cheyenne, Ivan, Liberty, Austin, Ridge, and Keeton; great great-grandchildren, Riley and Alivia.



She is preceded in death by her husband, Frankie Nimmo; parents; sister, Ruth Fuller; and granddaughters, Kellie (Camp) Hokkanen and Jamie (Curle) Sord.



Tunnie was a member of the Lighthouse Christian Assembly Church in Grand Tower. She was a remarkable woman and will be missed by all.



Services for Tunnie will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at the Lighthouse Christian Assembly Church in Grand Tower with Jerry Fuller officiating. Burial will follow in Walker Hill Cemetery, Grand Tower. A time of visitation will be held from 11-1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the church.



Meredith Funeral Home in Carbondale is assisting the family with arrangements.



In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the funeral home to further assist with funeral expenses.
