Jane Cole

Grand Tower – Jane Cole, 68, passed away at 6:55 p.m. on January 9, 2017 at her residence in Grand Tower.



Jane was born in Grand Tower on July 18, 1948 to Woodrow Merle and Ruth Cynthia (How) Cole.

She is survived by two brothers, Earl How of Florissant, MO and LL. (Diane) How of St. Peters, MO; two sisters, Jean Rapa of Hazelwood, MO and Susan (Gerald) Franklin of Grand Tower; Nephews, Mark How, John (Linda) Rapa, Russell (Theresa) Tripp, Scott (Julie) Franklin, and Joshua Franklin; Nieces, Becky How, Laura (Daniel) How, Cindy Sims, Allison (Jeff) Holshouser, and Carmen (Eric) Hileman; and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.



Jane is preceded in death by her sister, Peggy Tripp; brother, Paul Cole; two nieces, Debby Roth and Lauren Holshouser; and three nephews, Doug, Brett, and Cody Tripp.



Jane was an active member of the Democratic Party and worked as a Research Assistant for David L. Wilson-Co-Editor of the Papers of Ulysses S. Grant. Also worked in the office of Bruce Richman. She was a former precinct committeeman in Grand Tower. Jane was an avid walker and loved spending time with her nephews, Buddy, Scott and Josh. She also loved animals, especially her dog Spanky. She shared an affinity for gardening and passion for seeing her favorite oriental lilies to grow.



Services for Jane will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the Meredith Funeral Home Chapel in Grand Tower with Rev. Peggy Camp officiating. Burial will follow in Walker Hill Cemetery, Grand Tower. Visitation will be held from 10-2:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the Chapel in Grand Tower.
