Karen Mabry Rice

MURPHYSBORO – Karen “Bamah” Mabry Rice, 78, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family.



Karen was born on July 30, 1942 to Ernest and Leota (Smith) Mabry in Altus, OK. She married Thomas “T” Rice on December 31, 1999 in Las Vegas, NV. He preceded her in death on September 2, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Kraig T. Kueteman on March 6, 1978.



Karen is survived by her son, Karl Kueteman and wife Sherry; grandchildren, Brittany and Matthew; daughter, Kristin Kueteman; granddaughter, Megan and daughter, Katryn Cooper.



She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; and son, Kurt Kueteman.



Karen was a scholar and worked as an archeologist in Mexico. She was a member of the Mensa Society, an author, an artist and actress. As an actress, she helped found the Edmond Community Theater in Edmond, OK. Beyond her accomplishments she was a mother, grandmother and wife and was amazing at all of those things. She was loved by friends and family.



A private family service will be held.



Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
