Lillian Long, 82, of Murphysboro, passed away at 8:50 a.m., on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at her residence. Lillian was born May 12, 1930 to Zygumnd J and Anna Marie (Matusek) Jaworski in Wheeling, West Virginia. She married William L Long on July 28, 1951 in Wheeling, West Virginia. He preceded her in death on February 13, 1995. Survivors include two sons, Bill (Kathy) Long of St Charles, Missouri, and Don (Sandy) Long of Carbondale; two daughters, Debbie (Ron) Harper of Murphysboro, and Terrie (Earl) Hatfield of DeSoto; three sisters, Janie Linn of Wheeling, West Virginia, Evelyn Jenkins of New Hampshire, and Aggie Stanwick of Mingo Junction, Ohio; fourteen grandchildren, Joey, Missy, Scott, RJ, Becky, Bobby, Chris, Michelle, Christy, Matthew, Anna, Wesley, Jennifer, Jessie; two great grandchildren, Allie and Alex. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Chuck Jaworski. Lillian was a member of St Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Carbondale. She was a housewife for 58 years. She loved her family and will be greatly missed by all. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at St Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Carbondale, with Father Robert Flannery officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at Meredith Funeral Home in Carbondale with a Vigil Prayer service at 7:45 p.m. and Wednesday, November 21, 2012 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Interment will be at St Andrews Cemetery in Murphysboro. Memorial donations may be made out to the Alzheimer's Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
