Marjune Wiswell

CARBONDALE – Marjune Wiswell, 93, passed away Friday, August 3, 2018 at Century Assisted Living.



She was born in Carbondale on August 4, 1924 to John and Effie (Roach) Clutts.



Marjune married Warren Wiswell on September 15, 1943 at St. Louis, MO. They shared 70 years of marriage and he preceded her in death on November 1, 2013.



Marjune worked at Sears for 40 years. She was a devoted Christian and was a member of Lakeland Baptist Church for many years. Marjune loved her flower gardens and was a fantastic cook. She and Warren had many adventures together traveling the world. They had no children so they became “parents” to many young people including international students whom they were able to visit during their travels. She influenced many people through Bible teaching and hospitality.



She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; and one brother.



Marjune is survived by many friends, nieces and nephews.



Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Lakeland Baptist Church, Carbondale with Pastor Phil Nelson officiating. Visitation will be from 10 – 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Entombment will be at Pleasant Grove Memorial Park, Murphysboro.



Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association and will be accepted at the church.
