CARBONDALE – Martin Ray Bloodworth, 68, of Carbondale, passed away on June 18, 2020 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.



Martin was born on June 18, 1953 to Billy and Betty Bloodworth in Glendale, California.



Martin is survived by his Mother, Betty Runion, 3 Brothers Gene (Debbie), David (Marna), Kurt Bloodworth, Sisters Carla Nerio, Kelley Neal, 4 Children Daniel (Jessica) Bloodworth, Jason (Aubrey) Bloodworth, Jeremy Cauthan (Danielle), Daughter Stephanie Bloodworth, Grandkids Ethan, Jeremiah, Kali, Avery, Elizabeth, Demetrius, Montana and Gabriel and has many nieces and nephews.



He was preceded in death by his Father, Bill Bloodworth



Marty, Joined the Airforce in July 11th, 1972, retired July 31st, 1992, he was an Aircrew Instructor/Examiner & Loadmaster Specialist. He served in the Vietnam War, Desert Shield/Storm and retired as a TSGT in the 20th Airforce Squadron. He retired from ADM after 20 years. He was a member of the Goose Creek of SC Masonic Lodge. He was an avid golfer on the JW & Sunset Inn Golf League in Springfield, enjoyed riding his Goldwing motorcycle, loved to sail & was a member of Springfield Ski & Boat Club, made sure to make the Sunday matinee’s, enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, traveled as much as possible in & out of the states and loved to take his mother to the Casinos, and he was “never going back AGAIN”.



A private Military Service will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, Illinois on Tuesday, June 23, 2020.
