Nathan Silkwood

CARBONDALE – Nathan (Nate) Silkwood, 64, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2022 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.



Nathan was born on October 4, 1957 to Harold and Geraldine (Walker) Silkwood in Christopher, Illinois. He married Hope Roberts on October 29, 1996 in Murphysboro, IL.



Nathan is survived by his wife Hope, daughters Jessica (Andre) Thomas and Sarah (Kaylenn) Dreppard; grandchildren Adyson and Anabella Thomas; sister Candace Silkwood-Cross, and nephews Chris and Trent Cross.



He was preceded in death by his parents.



Nathan was an avid musician and a dedicated family man. In October of 2013, he received his Professional Guitar Repair Technician Certification from Galloup Guitar Building and Repair school in Michigan. After graduating, he went on to open his own repair shop, The Axe Monkey, in 2015 located in Carbondale, IL.



There will be a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
