Richard Dietz

June 10, 1944 — March 23, 2020

De Soto – Richard Dietz, 75, of De Soto, passed away on March 23, 2020 in St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO.



Richard was born on June 10, 1944 to Louie and Hazel (Dixon) Dietz. He married Diana Farris on June 26, 1965 in De Soto.



He survived by his loving wife, Diana Dietz; children, Michelle Eisenhauer and husband Gary and Cleth “Josh” Dietz and wife Britany; grandchildren, Christopher and wife Desi, Devon, and Jacob; great-grandchildren, Daniel and Leah; sister, Janet Fassel; and mother-in-law, Violet Forbes.



He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Karen Bigler.



Richard served his country in U.S. Navy Seabee during the Vietnam War. After he returned from Vietnam he owned and operated Quality Masonry, Inc. in De Soto for 27 years. He then worked as a supervisor over the general maintenance department for Round Mountain Gold in Nevada for 20 years. He then retired and moved back to De Soto. He was a member of the VFW in Murphysboro and a member of Carbon Lake Club in Murphysboro.



A celebration of Richard’s life will be held at a later date.



Memorials may be made to the Honor Guard American Legion Post # 127 in Murphysboro and will be accepted at the American Legion or funeral home.
