Roberta Harrison

Carbondale - Roberta Harrison, 93, of Carbondale, passed away 8:45 p.m. Saturday, August 29, 2015 at her home. She was born March 5, 1922 in Royalton to Allen and Ruby (Joplin) Wingett. On July 5, 1940, she married Emmett T. Harrison Sr. at Jackson, Missouri. He preceded her in death on November 26, 1992. Roberta was a member of the First Christian Church in Hurst, was a homemaker, and helped her husband on the farm. Survivors include her children, Jeanette Hagen of Carbondale, Linda (Roscoe) Nance of Makanda, Jean (James) Browning of Galesburg, Emmett Thomas 'Tom' (Terri Lynn) Harrison of Carbondale, and Donna (Jay) Howd of Carbondale; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 13 great great-grandchildren. Roberta is preceded in death by a daughter, Marie Imogene Harrison; brother, George Allen Wingett; and two sisters, Blanche Alberta Pulcher and Velma Mae Davis. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at Meredith Funeral Home, Carbondale, with Mr. Randy Dietz officiating. Interment will be in McKinney Hill Cemetery, Carbondale. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at the funeral home. Memorials to the McKinney Hill Cemetery, Carbondale, are the preferred form of remembrance and will be accepted at the funeral home.
