Grand Tower - Sandy Cripps, 65, passed away 6:40 p.m., Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Barnes Hospital, St. Louis. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6th at the Meredith Funeral Home, Grand Tower with John Cripps officiating. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5th at the Funeral Chapel, in Grand Tower. Memorials may be made to the Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease Foundation. Sandy was born in Grand Tower on June 30, 1949 to Elza 'Tom' B. and Juanita Lou (Qualls) McClure. She served in the U.S. Navy as a Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class. She was in Operation Desert Storm where she serves as a corpsman at Fleet Hospital #6 in Bahrain. On October 3, 1970 she married Frankie H. Cripps at Grand Tower. He survives. Other survivors include son, Shannon Cripps of Greenville; daughter, Jill (Michael) Crane of Grand Tower; sister, Simone Reeves of Grand Tower; 6 grandchildren, Aaron Lobato, Mathew Cripps, Lindsay Crane, Michael Crane, Nicholas Crane, and Shannon Crane; and three nieces, Becky Reardon, Lisa Tate, and Amy Blessing. She is proceeded in death by her parents and one grandson. Sandy had been a volunteer for the Jackson County Ambulance Service, and was also a great Homemaker. She was of the Southern Baptist Faith. Sandy was a lifetime member of the Carol P. Foster VFW Post 3455 in Anna. She loved to sew, make dolls, sock caps, lap and baby quilts, and clothing. She played bingo and cards at the Senior Citizens Center in Wiggins, MS. She will be missed by many friends and family.
