Shirley Wells

Grand Tower – Shirley Ann Wells, 79, of Grand Tower, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at home surrounded by her family.



Shirley Ann Wells was born on July 6, 1937 to Bill Robertson and Louise Hatley.



Shirley Ann Wells is survived by her son, Gary Wells of Grand Tower, IL; Daughters, Sue Lawson of Makanda, IL; Linda (Randy) Ellet of Grand Tower, IL; Brothers, Frank (Michelle) Robertson of Arizona; Junior Robertson of Murphysboro, IL; Wesley (Connie) Robertson and Jeremy Roberston of Anna, IL. Sisters, Donna (Ray) Lambert of Peoria, IL; Linda Dowdy of Olive Branch, IL; Sue Bradshaw of Scott City, MO; Marilyn (Jimmy) Cripps of Grand Tower, IL; Laurie (Tim) Williams of Cobden, IL and Mary Surratt of Murphysboro, IL. Grandson Tony Lawson of Makanda and Great-Grand Daughter Melody Moyer of Makanda.



She is preceded in death by her son Kenneth Wells as well as brothers Duke Robertson; Bill Robertson and Mike Robertson. She is also preceded in death by her two sisters Blanch Garmes and Carol Ebert.



Shirley Ann loved gardening, reading and spending time with her beloved family and friends. Her caring nature will be missed in the many people that loved her.



It was Shirley Ann’s wish to be cremated and a private service will be held in her honor at a later date.



Meredith Funeral Home in Carbondale is assisting the family with arrangements.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Celtic Hospice in Shirley Ann’s name.
