William J. "Bill" Hawk Ii

Makanda - William J. Hawk II, 60, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at his home. Bill was born August 10, 1954 in Murphysboro, to William Junior and Emma Jean (Wallace) Hawk. They preceded him in death. He married Lorrie Ann Edwards on December 30, 1980 in Murphysboro. She survives and is of Makanda. Bill is also survived by his three sons, Jason (Jaclyn) Hawk of Carbondale, William (Tracy) Hawk of Herrin, and Adam Hawk (Hannah Schmidt) of Makanda; one daughter, Tiffany (Steve) Baumann of Ottawa, KS; three sisters, Sharon Wilson of Carbondale, Jeanette Schoolcraft of Carbondale, and Mary Lach of Springfield; four grandchildren, with one on the way, Skylar, Emma, and Cassidy Baumann and Lucas Robinson-Hawk. Bill loved his family and especially his grandchildren, they all had a special place in his heart. One of his favorite things to do was cook, with a specialty in BBQ. He was of Catholic faith, and enjoyed working and meeting many people and sharing stories. He was self-employed for over 20 years in the Heating and Air Industry. A Memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Meredith Funeral Home in Carbondale, with Rev. Todd Hawk officiating. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial donations are the preferred form of remembrance and may be made to the family, % Lorrie Hawk, and will be accepted at the funeral home.
