CARBONDALE – Bobby Joe Crews, 88, of Carbondale, passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 in Manor Court of Carbondale.
Bob was born April 8, 1930 in De Soto to Ralph and Pearl (Webb) Crews. He married Mary Kathryn Parks on January 27, 1951 in De Soto. She preceded him in death on September 15, 2015.
Bob is survived by son, Roger Crews and wife Darlene of Anna; daughter, Judy Calcutta and husband Nick of Magnolia, DE; five grandchildren, Amy and Erin Ellicot, Nicole Calcutta, Bobbi Bradford and Jordan Crews; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by sisters, Ruth Palmer and Nellie Fager; and brother, Gene Crews.
Bob worked for 35 years at the New Era Dairy. He attended the Assembly of God in Murphysboro and had also been a superintendent at the Assembly of God in Carbondale for forty years. He shared his gift and love for singing with his church and others. Bob enjoyed spending his free time watching and talking about the St. Louis Cardinals.
Services for Bob will be 1:00PM on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Connect Point Church in Anna with Pastors Dean Akins and Steve Guined officiating. Burial will follow in De Soto City Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 – 8PM on Monday, February 18, 2019 at Connect Point Church in Anna and from 11AM – 1PM on Tuesday at the church.
Memorials may be made to the family in care of Roger Crews to help with expenses. Envelopes will be available and accepted at the church.
