Brian Anderson

Brian Anderson, 68, of Murphysboro, Illinois (formerly of Chicago, Illinois) passed away March 14th, 2021 in Carbondale, Illinois. Brian was born in Chicago, Illinois to Walter and Mary Anderson of Chicago Heights, Illinois. He graduated from Homewood-Flossmoor High School in 1970 and later from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry.



Brian taught himself to play the guitar, piano, and various other instruments to pursue his love of music. He became a part of the music culture in Chicago for many years producing two albums “Small World” and “Work We Do Sounds We Hear” and playing with various bands. Brian later moved to Murphysboro to enjoy the peaceful calm of nature, which inspired some of his music.



He was in preceded in death by his parents Walter and Mary Anderson and his sister Gayle (Dillenbeck). Brian is survived by his brother Randy, and his sisters Bonnie (Elkins), Sally (Anderson-Meyer), and several nieces and nephews. Celebrations of Brian’s life and music are being planned.
