Dallas W. Mcpheron

July 17, 1951 — May 3, 2020

MARION – Dallas W. McPheron, 68, of Marion, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 3, 2020 at Heartland Regional Medical Center with daughter able to be by his side daily.



Dallas was born on July 17, 1951 to Clarence and Gilda (Brandon) McPheron in Herrin.



Dallas is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Deshona and Tony Loyd; grandsons Tyler Shane and Joshua Ray Loyd; three step grandsons; six step great grandchildren, including Sydnee and Leah who called him “PePaw”. Son Kody J. McPheron of Chesterton, IN and daughter Lecia; sisters Veronica (Dipietro) Allen and Tonya (Dipietro) and David Romig; father Clarence “Mac” McPheron; niece Shawnda (James) Jones and children; niece and nephews Brittany Nickles and family, Tyler Allen, Nathaniel Romig.



He was preceded in death by his mother, grandparents, Hazel and Allen Brandon; Edward and Beulah McPheron; oldest son, Denver Shane McPheron; brother in law, Don Allen; step fathers, Nicolas Dipietro and Kenneth Snell.



Dallas and his sisters were raised in West Chester County, New York. He would proudly tell you that he was at “Woodstock” Dallas had a great sense of humor and a personality to be reckoned with, once you had met him you will never forget him. He was loved by many, his memory will be forever treasured.



His passions included Rock and Roll music from the 1960’s to present, fishing, spending time with Deshona and especially Tony and “the boys”. He loved helping them rebuild old carburetors, teaching small engine repair and anything else they would listen to him say! Gardening, he was especially proud of the maple tree he grew from a seed, in a solo cup. When it became too big to stay inside, they planted it at his daughters.



There will be a memorial at Blairsville Cemetery at a later date.



A special mention to the staff and residents at Integrity Health Care of Marion for the unforgettable friendships made.



Meredith Funeral Home in Carbondale assisted the family with arrangements.
