Danny Willard Griffith

GRAND TOWER– Danny Willard Griffith passed away Sunday, April 19, 2020 at Manor Court.



Danny was born November 1, 1928 to Herbert and Nellie (Cox) Griffith in West Frankfort.



Danny worked as a deck hand for Archer Daniel Midland Company for 21 years and retired in 1991. He was a member of the Pilgrim Chapel Church in Grand Tower since the late 1960’s.



Danny is survived by two sons; Harold “Shorty” (Patricia) Griffith and Gerald “Jerry” Griffith both of Grand Tower; two daughters; Debbie (John) Choate of Ava and Kathy Browder of Murphysboro; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Kenny Griffith of Georgia and Ed Griffith of St. Louis, MO; two sisters, Jane Ann Hartline of Carterville and Corine Cluck of Centralia.



Danny was preceded in death by his parents, son, Charles “Herb” Griffith; Francis "Funny" Ellis; four brothers, and two sisters.



Private family graveside services will be held at Walker Hill Cemetery in Grand Tower.



Meredith Funeral Home in Grand Tower assisted the family with arrangements.
