Georgia Uffelman

Murphysboro

Georgia Uffelman, 88, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family. Born on March 3, 1938, to Ralph and Zella Pruett, Georgia was raised in Pinckneyville, Illinois, alongside her siblings, Luanne Williams and David Pruett.

On August 22, 1959, Georgia married the love of her life, John Uffelman. They shared many years together before he preceded her in death.

Georgia built a life centered around family, hard work, and the simple joys she loved most. She spent many years living in Chester, Illinois, before later making her home in Murphysboro, Illinois. She was a devoted mother to her four children: Michael Uffelman and his fiancée Dana Frazier, Jan Reis and her husband Mike Reis, David Uffelman and his wife Lisa Uffelman, and Scott Uffelman and his wife Kris Uffelman. She was also a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her tremendous joy.

Georgia loved her family deeply and cherished every moment spent with them. She found happiness in caring for her home and yard, and she especially enjoyed mowing her 40 acres of lawn, a task she took great pride in. She was also an avid lover of animals, especially her dogs, and enjoyed bird watching in the peaceful surroundings she called home.

Georgia will be remembered for her strong spirit, caring heart, and the love she shared so freely with those around her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
