Jim Scroggins

MAKANDA - James P. Scroggins, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at the VA Medical Hospital in Marion.

Jim was born on December 22, 1939 in Makanda to Bernard and Connie (Short) Scroggins.

Jim served his country in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1965. Jim worked as a truck driver for several companies over the years. He was an avid coffee drinker and enjoyed spending time with his friends over coffee.

Jim is survived by his sister, Mary Ackerman; nieces, Julie Francis, Marcia Schaller, Jo Ellen Nannie and Robin Edwards; and nephew, Brad Riley.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Margaret Nannie.

Graveside Services for Jim will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at Evergreen Cemetery in Makanda with full military honors.

Memorials may be made in Jim's name to This Able Veteran or Honor Wreaths for Veterans. Envelopes will be available at the service.
