Jane Hance

DESOTO – Jane Hance, 89, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at Du Quoin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Jane was born on September 28, 1935 to Charles Tatum and Eileen (Hartsock) Broadway. She married Howard A. Hance on June 11, 1962. Together, they ran Aunt Jenny’s Fudge. He preceded her in death on May 25, 2019.

Jane is survived by her daughter Jane (Steve) McKinney, grandchildren Jenny (Jim) Wheatley-Clark, Sherri (Anton) Eberhart, Joe (Mandi) McKinney, Scott (Heather) Steinmetz, great-grandchildren Lexi Hicks, Matthew McLane, Aidan and Logan Eberhart, Clay and Kodie McKinney, and a great-great-granddaughter Maggie Lacy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, her daughter Julie Steinmetz, and son Bob Wheatley.

A Graveside Service will take place on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at 11:00 am at Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin with Rev. Paul Hicks officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
