Jesse Ray Mann

MAKANDA – Jesse Ray Mann, 50, of Makanda, passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2023.

Jesse was born on June 18, 1972 in Carbondale to Ronald and Shirley (Rowden) Mann. He married Laura M. McCague on June 17, 1995 in Herrin.

Jesse worked at SI Motorsports for many years and then went on to work for the Illinois Department of Corrections for fourteen years. He was a very devoted and dedicated husband and father. Jesse had an overwhelming generosity towards others and loved spending time with his family and beloved pets, Cooper and Zeus.

Jesse is survived by his wife, Laura; daughter, Zoie (John) Dalton of Marion; grandson, Weston Dalton; mother and step-father, Shirley and Jack Franklin of Carbondale; brothers, John (Jessica) Mann of Carterville and Jason (Kimberly) Mann of Mt. Vernon; one niece and four nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Mann.

A Celebration of Jesse’s Life will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2023 starting at 11am at Evergreen Park in Carbondale.

Memorials in Jesse’s name may be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital or St. Francis Animal Shelter.
