John Robert Starke Jr.

CARBONDALE – John Robert Starke, 76, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026 at his home.

John was born on July 31, 1949 to John Walter and Helen Therese (Franczak) Starke in Chicago

John served his country in the U.S. Army. He later served as a police officer in Calumet City until his retirement. In Carbondale, John was a long-time member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. He enjoyed spending his spare time, hunting, fishing, and boating.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A graveside service will take place at 10:00am on Monday, January 12, 2026 at Holy Cross Cemetery in Calumet City with military rites.
