Leslie Irene Mae Gibson, 30, born to Amy D. Shingleton and Roy A. Gibson in Tallahassee, Florida on October 17, 1995, passed away at 12:38 PM on September 9, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Leslie is preceded in death by her mom, Amy D. Shingleton; two grandmas, Brenda K. Harrison and Joyce V. Monroe; her grandpa, Lloyd A. “Tiny” Shingleton, and many aunts and uncles.

Leslie is survived by her two sons, Caden and Dawson Woolard; five sisters, Patricia Gibson of DuQuoin, IL, April Gibson of Carbondale, IL, Tina (Michael) Anderson of Murphysboro, IL, Ashley (Chase) Castle of Sarah, MS, Leanne Gibson of Murphysboro, IL; two brothers, Quin Enbson of Herrin, IL, and Isaiah Terry of Campbell, MO; her grandpa, Ervin Harrison of Murphysboro, IL and her dad, Roy (Temetra) Gibson of Herrin, IL; her nephew, Daniel Anderson and her niece, Kaylee McGee, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Her family would also like to recognize her two best friends, Chrissy and Lora. These very special ladies have been by her side throughout all of her treatments, doctor’s appointments, and were always a phone call away, not just for Leslie but also for her family. They helped make one of her lifelong dreams come true. She got to go to Florida on vacation. She got to see the dolphins, swim in the ocean, and visit her home state. She loved you both and we as her family could never express how thankful we are that she had you.

Leslie was a kind-hearted, loving, and strong person. She was a devoted DSP worker for S.T.A.R.T. for 8 years. The staff and individuals were very special to her. She loved them as much as they loved her.

Leslie was many things but above all she was a wonderful mother, great sister, and daughter. All of our lives are more blessed because she was apart of it.

Funeral services are pending.

Memorials in Leslie’s name may be made to S.T.A.R.T. in Murphysboro or the National Breast Cancer Foundation, and will be accepted at the funeral home.
