Marian "Mim" Struzziero

CARBONDALE – Marian “Mim” Struzziero, 95, of Carbondale, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Manor Court of Carbondale.



Marian was born December 22, 1923 to Walter and Marion (Porter) Loomis. She married Roger W. Williams and when he passed away she married Ralph Struzziero who also has passed away.

Survivors include her daughter, Judy Dawson and husband Steve of Carbondale; son, David Roger Williams and wife Mary of Ashby, MA;; grandchildren, Christina Dawson and Michael (Madlyn) Dawson; great grandchildren, Danielle, Craig, Kaitlin, Olivia, and Abby Dawson, and Marcie (Greg) Williams, Christopher Williams and Michael Williams and Michelle (Trevor) Williams-Irace ; great-grandchildren, Brendan, Austin, Rebekah, Rachel and Benjamin Williams; step-children, Ralph (Barbara) Struzziero, Dr. Richard (Joan) Struzziero, Dr. Phillip (Mary) Struzziero, Edith Fleming; step-grandchildren, Amanda (Fred Brown) Callahan, Ned (Tori) Struzziero, Nicholas Struzziero and Anthony Struzziero, Rick (Laura) Struzziero, Alison (Alex) Todd; Phillip (Kate) Struzziero; Kate (Jeff) Ciulla, Ellen (Rob Roth) Struzziero, Bryce (Gina) Fleming, Keith (Nichole Moler) Fleming; and 20 step-great grandchildren.



She is preceded in death by her parents and husbands and one great grandchild, Christopher Tyler Dawson.



Mim was an active member at the First Presbyterian Church of Carbondale where she had been a deacon at 80 plus years old. She enjoyed the fellowship of others and would routinely go with the church lunch group after services. She was not only a Christian in name but a Christian in action with everything she did.



Mim continued to learn throughout her life and was involved in the SIU learning and retirement center along with great discussions within her book club. Her hobbies also included cross stitching, playing bridge and traveling. Most recently she passed her driver’s license test on her 95th birthday. Above all else Mim enjoyed her family and friendships and will be missed by all who knew her.



Funeral services will be 11AM on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at First Presbyterian Church in Carbondale with Pat Manfredi officiating. Visitation will be 10 – 11AM on Thursday at the church.



Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Carbondale.



Meredith Funeral Home in Carbondale is in charge of arrangements.
