CARBONDALE – Marjorie A. Matthews, 84, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026 at her home.
Marjorie was born on February 9, 1942 to Gordon and Zora Waddell in Palatine.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother Scott Waddell.
Marjorie had a wide variety of interests and passions. She enjoyed spending her time outdoors and kayaking. She loved animals of all types, but had a special place in her heart for Border Collies. When welcomed into her home, you could see her appreciation for Egyptian artifacts, amongst her prized collections.
If desired, memorials may be made to St. Francis CARE Animal Rescue in Murphysboro, Illinois in Marjorie’s honor.
