Martha Campbell

Martha Mofield Campbell passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2026 at the age of 80 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease. Born November 4, 1945 to Tom and Winifred Mofield, Martha was a 1963 graduate of Carbondale Community High School and a 1968 graduate of Louisiana State University.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Tom Campbell. She is survived by her daughter Sarah Campbell-Wood (Robert Wood, Jr.); sisters Sidney Mofield and Wini Boyd; step-children Thomas Campbell (Noviarini), Mary Chapman, and Kimberly Campbell; grandchildren Ethan Campbell, Campbell Belcher, Pierce Chapman, Koda Campbell, Harker Wood, Keaton Wood, Lucas Johns, Thatcher Wood.

Martha will be laid to rest on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 2:00 in the afternoon at Oakland Cemetery. A celebration of life reception will be held following the burial at Buckwater Brew Works and Whiskey House 3:00-5:00 at 213 E. Main Street, Carbondale, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society.
