Neva June Fitzsimmons

Neva June Fitzsimmons, 85, of Carbondale, passed away 11:25 a.m., Saturday, October 12, 2013, at the Shawnee Christian Nursing Center, Herrin with her loving family by her side. Neva was born on June 20, 1928 at Mt. Vernon, to Charles and Grace (Wells) Askew. She was a Christian and a homemaker. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Mary Jane Brooks of Carbondale; two grandsons, Aaron and Jonathon Brooks both of Carbondale. She is preceded in death by her husband, Earl Fitzsimmons. Graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at the South Hickory Hill Cemetery, Mt. Vernon with Pastor Glenn Sanders officiating. Memorial may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 320 East Walnut St, Suite A, Carbondale, IL 62901.
