Paul Eugene O'Hara

CARBONDALE - Paul Eugene O'Hara, age 77, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2026 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

Paul was born on June 14, 1949 in Bayonne, NJ to Paul O'Hara, Sr. and Mary (Pipoli) O'Hara. Paul married Barbara Givens on June 2, 1997 in Springfield, Tennessee. She preceded him in death on March 9, 2018.

Paul served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War where he earned a Purple Heart. Paul loved his animals, not only his but the neighborhood cat.

Paul is survived by son, James O'Hara and several cousins including Theresa O'Hara Bell.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara O'Hara and sister-in-law, Karon McGowan.

Graveside Services with full military rites will be at 2:00pm on Wednesday, October 28, 2026 with Father Bob Towner officiating at Murdale Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Murphysboro.

Memorials may be made to St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Carbondale.
