Reba Raedell Leforge

DESOTO – Reba Raedell LeForge, 90, passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family in De Soto.

Raedell was born on February 15, 1933 in Hutsonville, IL to Ralph and Freda (Clemons) Newlin. Raedell married Gene LeForge on January 26, 1952 in Hutsonville. He preceded her in death on May 30, 2007.

Raedell worked many jobs throughout her life, all serving others. She was a selfless caring person with the heart of a mother to all who knew her.

Raedell is survived by her sons, Jerry LeForge, Gene LeForge, Jr., and Joe (Kateena) LeForge; daughter, Martha (Howard) Kellett; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; brother, Kenneth Newlin; many nieces and nephews and her closest friend, Doris Snider.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one great-grandson, Gabriel Issac Mazurek; her parents; two sisters, Wanda and Juanita; two infant brothers and brothers Aubrey, Richard and Paul.

A Celebration of Life Service for Raedell will be announced at a later date.

Memorials may be made in Raedell’s name to the First Baptist Church Food Pantry in DeSoto at 301 N Hickory St, De Soto, IL 62924.
