Robert C. Osinga

CARBONDALE – Robert C. Osinga, age 77, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Robert was born on February 21, 1949 in Racine, WI to John and Winifred (Kuiper) Osinga. Robert married Nancy Slinkman on January 17, 1970 in Vesper, WI.

Robert was a dedicated member and longtime elder at Cornerstone Reformed Church, where he shared his faith and fellowship with the community. He was known not only for his commitment to his church but also for his active involvement in various organizations, including the Williamson County Gun Club and Rock Steady Boxing, where he inspired many with his spirit and resilience.

Throughout his life, Robert worked in various fields, including a number of years being self-employed in the area of Agricultural and Industrial sales. He was well known for his honesty and integrity.

Robert is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Osinga; sons, Doug (Lori) Osinga and Greg (Sarah) Osinga; daughter, Dawn (Joel) Duff; grandchildren, Jeremy, Seth, and Mollie Osinga; grandchildren, John, Jim (Rachel), Bob and Ruth Osinga; grandchildren, Anna (Stephan) Lyogky, Andrew, Graham, Elijah, and Grace Duff; great-granddaughters, Violet and Lauren Osinga; brother, John Osinga; several in-laws and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Leonard Osinga.

A visitation for family and friends will take place on Friday July 10, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Meredith Funeral Home in Carbondale. The following day, Saturday, July 11, 2026, a visitation will be held at Cornerstone Reformed Church, 1201 S. Giant City Road in Carbondale; starting at 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM with Pastor Bill Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Memorial Park in Murphysboro.

Memorials may be made in Robert's name to Trinity Christian School and will be accepted at the funeral home and church.
