Robert Paul Hisgen

CARBONDALE – Robert “Bob” Hisgen, 76, of Carbondale, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2020 at the VA Medical Center in Marion.



Bob was born February 14, 1944 to George and Evelyn (Maskol) Hisgen in Lincoln, Nebraska. He married Marilyn Woods on June 21, 1969 in West Frankfort.



Bob entered the Army in 1967, serving nine months in Viet Nam in 1968. He was employed with the City of Carbondale for more than 30 years retiring as a property maintenance manager in 2003.



Bob enjoyed fishing, home improvement projects, and spending time with his many friends and family.



Bob is survived by his wife, Marilyn, a son Robbie and daughter, Maridee Moll, her husband Jeff and two special grandchildren, Jackson and Addyson Moll. He is also survived by his brother Harvey and his wife Bonnie.



Bob was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Richard.



A memorial service will be held on July 11, 2020 at the View Church in Carbondale with Military Rites and Pastor Jacob Swain officiating.



Meredith Funeral Home in Carbondale assisted the family with arrangements.
