Ronald Lewis Glidewell

CAPE GIRARDEAU – Ronald Lewis Glidewell, 63, of Cape Girardeau, passed away at 9:10 a.m. on Friday, October 6, 2017 in Southeast Hospital, MO.  Ronald Lewis Glidewell was born on July 15, 1954 to Lewis and Melba Jane (Williams) Glidewell in El Paso, TX.  On July 12, 1988 Ronald Lewis was united in marriage with Donna Kay (Clark) Givens and they spent many wonderful years together. 



He is survived by his wife Donna Glidewell of Cape Girardeau, MO, and mother Melba Jane Glidewell of Murphysboro; two sons, Zack Glidewell of Branson, MO and Tim (wife Jennie) Givens of Rogersville, MO; four grandchildren, Kayden Glidewell, Kylie Mayberry, Aryania Givens and Brysen Seymour; four brothers, Charlie (wife Laura) Brown of Carbondale, Tim (wife Leslie) Glidewell of Anna, Gary (wife Chrisy) Glidewell of Goreville, and Rick (wife Pam) Glidewell of St. Peters, MO; and five sisters, Rhonda (husband Charlie R) Robertson of Murphysboro, Janie (husband Gary) Gieger of St. Charles, Susie (husband Bill) Kilquist of Carbondale, Christy (husband Scott) Ebersohl of Chester and Katheryn Glidewell of Herrin; many beloved nieces and nephews; special friends Andrea Powell of Cape Girardeau and Martha Beck of Cape Girardeau.Ronald is preceded in death by his father Lewis Glidewell and brother John Glidewell.Ronald worked as a shift supervisor for over 29 years employed by Associated Electric in the Power Plant industry. 



He was truly a remarkable man loved by many. Ronald was a great dad and loving husband, as his wife Donna summed up, “He was the best thing that ever happened to her!” He will be truly missed.      



Memorial services will be at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, October 16, 2017 at Meredith Funeral Home Chapel, Grand Tower with Father Gary Gummersheimer officiating.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. till noon at the funeral Chapel on Monday.  Burial will follow in Goodbread Cemetery, Grand Tower.
