GRAND TOWER - Rose passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2026 peacefully at home surrounded by her beloved family. 

Rose was born in West Mifflin, PA. The second and last daughter, after the late Linda Cuda, to the late Elmer and Mary (Kirkwood) Hermansderfer. 

Rose married the love of her life, her late husband, James (Jim) Cripps Sr. on December 17, 1966, on the front porch of her ancestral home in West Mifflin, PA. 

Rose is survived by one son James (Jim) Cripps II and beloved daughter in law, Marilyn Cripps. Granddaughter, Abigail Mary Lee Cripps (Jacob Simpson), all of Grand Tower, IL; grandson, Conner (Isabella) Little of North Carolina; brother-in-law, Bob Cuda; nieces and nephews, Kathy (Alva) Richardson, Donald Cuda, Ronald (Anna) Cuda and Kim (John) Kobulnicky; one estranged daughter and three estranged grandchildren, whereabouts unknown. 

Rose was born in the city but moved to the county outside of Slippery Rock, PA. Where she was a homemaker, taking care of her family and many farm animals that included her beloved Prize Horse Dixie Dynamite, and Dixie's son, Thunder. Rose had many horses over the years plus a goat, pig, and many dogs and cats. 

Rose loved her family, her animals, and riding horses with her husband whom she joined in heaven where her heart was always meant to be forever with her soulmate.

Private graveside service were held at Walker Hill Cemetery, Grand Tower.

Meredith Funeral Chapel in Grand Tower assisted the family with arrangements.
