Shirley Dean Hill

Carterville - Shirley Dean Hill, 76, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at her daughter's home with her family by her side. Shirley was born September 23, 1936 in Carbondale, to Rolla Thomas and Leota Mae (Blunt) Hill. She is survived by her two daughters, Kim Leazenby of Murphysboro, LeAndra Phelps of Apache Junction, AZ., three grandchildren, Kevin Brantley, Terry and Shannon Phelps; and four great grandchildren, Pamela, Callie and Carly Phelps, and Zoey Brantley. Shirley was preceded in death by her son, Kelly Pippin, two brothers, Benny Hill and Armand Lang, two sisters, Iva Lewis and Betty Golliher. Services will be at a later date in Arizona. Memorial donations are the preferred form of remembrance, and may be made to the Aids United Foundation at aidsunited.org; and will be accepted by Meredith Funeral Home.
