Steve Danley

MURPHYSBORO - Steven Jesse Danley, age 67, passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale surrounded by his loving family. 

Steve was born on November 4, 1956 in Ottawa, IL to William and Peggy (Martin) Danley. Steve married Jan Wolfe on August 8, 1980 in Murphysboro. 

Steve found his passion in playing music and spending time with his family. Steve had a successful career in the construction industry, leaving his mark through his craftsmanship and dedication. His talent and artistry as a carpenter brought joy and comfort to many, leaving behind a legacy of excellence in his field.

Steve is survived by his loving wife, Jan Danley; son, Jesse (Meredith) Danley; daughter, Emma Danley; mother, Peggy Danley; brothers, Dave (Paulette) and John (LuCynda Thompson) Danley; sisters, Becky Antas, Lori Danley, Kim (Bruce Horn) Danley, Mary (Pete Shanks) Danley, Jane (Anthony) Cruz, and Jenny Danley; sisters in law, Kathy (Kenny) Talty, Sue Niewoehner; grandchildren, Grant Jackson, and Elias and Isla Danley; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his father Bill Danley and sister Beth Centko. 

Visitation will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at First Presbyterian Church in Carbondale, immediately followed by a Memorial Service at 3:00pm.  A time of remembrance and fellowship will directly follow the memorial service.
